‘Trump’ Private Collection 2016. Alison Jackson
Alison Jackson is a well known photographer who creates images using lookalikes and spoof actors.
At first glance these images are amusing and titilating. Exploring the Cult of Celebrity, her images feed the voyeur in all of us whilst exposing the darker side of a celebrity crazed culture.
The images here are particularly disturbing as they speak of Trump’s absolute disregard for what is right and proper; it exposes him as a shameless man.
The dictionary definition of Satire: the use of humour, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people’s stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues.
This perfectly describes these images.
HANS BELLMER 1902-1975

Although Bellmer is described as a Surrealist, even within the permissive bounds of this movement, Bellmer’s work raises questions of delinquent sexuality regarding the artist.
It has been suggested that Bellmer initiated his doll project as away to shock his Nazi father and to oppose the facism of the Nazi Party by declaring that he would make no work that would support the new German state and that the disturbing and mutilated forms of his dolls were directed at the cult of the perfect body then prominent in Germany.
